Many companies have begun selling “Green” or “environmental” homes. That's a good thing for the planet, but the choices can be confusing since levels of “Green” vary widely.
For instance, a builder can claim to be building “Green homes” by simply installing ENERGY STAR appliances. Again, that's commendable, but it is a far different standard than ours.
All Stalwartbuilt homes are being designed and engineered with the intention of receiving LEED certification upon completion of construction. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, an extreme green rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to provide for and promote environmentally sustainable construction.
- Certified - 40-50% of non-innovation points
- Silver - 50-60%
- Gold - 60-80%
- Platinum - over 80%
LEED, makes StalwartBuilt a very wise choice if you desire a real "green" home.
