Many companies have begun selling "green" or "environmental" homes. That's a good thing for the environment, but the choices can be confusing since "levels of green" vary widely.
For instance, a builder can claim to be building "green homes" by simply installing EnergyStar appliances. Again, that's a good thing, but it is a far different standard than ours.
StalwartBuilt homes have not only achieved the coveted LEED certification but are the highest level possible - LEED Platinum.
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), provides a suite of standards for environmentally sustainable construction. Buildings can qualify for four levels of certification, with Platinum being the highest ranking:
- Certified - 40-50% of non-innovation points
- Silver - 50-60%
- Gold - 60-80%
- Platinum - over 80%
LEED Platinum, makes StalwartBuilt a very wise choice if you desire a real "green" home.
