StalwartBuilt Homes Explains Latest Construction Technology at UNF

May 1st, 2008

Julius Poston, president and founder of StalwartBuilt Homes told a packed room of over 100 at the University of North Florida that the future of homebuilding should exceed extreme standards for energy efficiency, wind capacity and air quality.

"Beyond Green: High Performance Living" was held at the University of North Florida Student Center in Jacksonville, Fla.

The panel on state-of-the-art, eco-friendly, green building practices included Poston; Rob Hamby, president and founder of Phoenix Contracting Group, the northeast Florida StalwartBuilt Guild Builder; Jim Barbarino of Harvard Mortgage and David Reed, JEA Building Construction Specialist. Ed Bondi, an architect, partner and vice president with Renaissance Creative, moderated the session.

Poston has long been committed to creating improved construction processes with untraditional, creative thinking. Now, he is concentrating on the highest green certification on the planet, LEED Platinum, establishing a new benchmark in residential construction industry.

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.

A StalwartBuilt zero energy home in Panama City, Fla. recently earned the definitive credential in the green building industry -- a Platinum score from the USGBC"s LEED for Homes rating system, making it the first single family residence in Florida and only one of a few in the nation to earn this prestigious certification.

It was also the first LEED Platinum certified home in Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi.
